West Point Crappie 2/3/08
My dad and myself hit the river again this Sunday to see if we could find some crappie. We ended up doing pretty good. I think we ended up around 30 fish or so. The water was up and stained real good in the river and the creeks were light stained. We fished the same spot we hit two weekends ago and caught 6 right off and then they shut down. Finally tried one last spot and it was pay dirt. The fish were stacked in a creek mouth. All except the first 6 were caught from 5:15 till about 5:45. We left cause it was getting dark. Most of the fish were very good size and starting to get fat in the belly. All fish were caught on 1/16 oz with firetiger 2 inch curly tails. They would not hit any other color.

Thanks for the report. reelcrappie fished below snake creek up there and did well Sunday too. Glad to see you posting here. We need some more reports from West Point. Great to see the water is rising.. The website states it is only 3' low right now.. That is great news. I plan to get up that way more this year. Just hard to pass up the ramp on harding 5 minutes from the house. I have left headed to WP and when I cross the long bridge on Harding.
Keep those reports coming, and thanks again.
