    Default Public Fishing Lakes

I know this question has been asked before by a buddy of mine, but it didn't get many responses. How many of you fish the PFA's around the state? They offer some great crappie fishing. You read articles about them in GON all the time and I've had some success trolling in them. We have 3 here in the middle ga. area(Laurens Co, Dodge Co, and Bleckley Co.) that are all within an hour of my house. Do any of you fish PFA's and if so which ones?

I fish Dodge Co. a good bit and have been to Bleckley several times. Have had better luck on both bass and brim fishing, but have caught some nice crappie out of both.

Manta...A couple of buddies of mine from Cochran have fished the Laurens PFA 3 or 4 times. They have caught fish every time, but said they haven't had much size. Dodge is usually good for some fish. I'm interested in seeing how the White Crappie in the Bleckley Lake do, especially after a couple of years of spawning.

Justfish...How do you crappie fish Dodge and Bleckley? Trolling, jigging, casting, or what?

Most of the time we pitch the brush, but we have trolled a few times in the spring and done ok. Pitch not just the visible brush but the ones off of channnels and drops.

Justfish.....That's some nice white crappie there. Those white crappie seem to love those crankbaits. I guess they are a little big for the black crappie. I'll be glad when the Bleckley lake gets to full pool and stays here for a while. I mainly troll and from what my buddies tell me it's going to be hard to troll even when the water gets up. Thanks for sharing the pictures. Keep us updated.
