Bluegill and Shellcracker on Blackshear
Hello Crappie.com family. The crappie bite has been kind of slow so I decided to take my dad fishing for some bream this morning. There was only one draw back to this trip and that was the time dad called me and woke me up. The phone rang at 6 am and I didn't go to sleep until around 1am. Well, I went ahead and got up and we wenty on out to the lake. We went down into Cedar creek and right away we spotted several large schools of shad. The first place we tried for those gills was the spot because we ended up with around 30 keepers. We also cought around 7 or 8 shellcrackers in the same area. It seemed like they wanted the crickets more than the worms. Am going to try them again before the week is out and will let ya'll know how we did. GOD bless everyone.

Sounds like you had a good morning. I have been doing pretty good in Cedar Creek for the gills also, but not much with the crackers. I have done about as good on beetle spins as I have crickets.
