Lake Russell is not a known for it's stripers. There was a limited stocking a few yrs ago but's thats been it. For stripers you would be better off going to Hartwell or Clarks Hill.

The more I hear about russell the better it sounds... No stripers to tangle my spider rigs..

The chances of any of us catching a striper on Russell during Crappiefest is about 0. Now that I say that you watch someone will tangle with them.
A lot of folks around Elbert County don't want them in there. Otherwise the Lake will end up like Hartwell or the Hill. But yet again some does.

Your best bet for stripers is the Russel Dam, but your going to need surf rods and a lot of sinkers 2-3oz. Lots of fun when the are generating. Call 1800-944-7207 for generation schedule. Im suprised i remeber that number, but i was traveling from ft gordon all the way to russell dam everyday for months to catch those stripers
