west point
has anyone been to west point lake recently.if so how was the fishing and lake level?

I haven't been, but from all the reports the last couple of weeks the nite bite must be unbelievable. They all talk about getting to the bridges early enough to even get a spot to tie up. Not sure about the daytime bite, but if I was a betting man I'd say better than most area lakes for numbers. At least it usually is for most of the year.
Long-lining By Day!
Tight-lining By Night!

Hey Crappiechapy, I have heard the same thing about the bite at night. The last time that I was a West Point I noticed something when I was going under one of the bridges that totally amazed me. I would venture to say that there was at least 2 oe 300 ropes dangling from where they were tied to the bridge. Those people must love fishing under those bridges.

The night bite has been good over the last few weeks, but last week was the Forth and every guy with a boat was on the water so not a good indication of the bite. The lake is horribly low, over 8ft down and a lot of underwater obstructions are now above water. If you know the lake and follow the channel you will be fine. The bridge bite is there, but the size is small, the large fish are coming in the "secret spots"
. You can try the bridges, but I can't get past the 30 generators running, and having to get there an hour or two before dark to get a spot is too much. The day bite is non-existent and almost all fish are being caught from 9pm till 0100. If you go let us know.
