    Default Lake Russell 07/06

It's been a few months getting the crappie rods down and going fishing but I did spend a few hours tonite on the water. Fish wasnt biting good for me but I finally managed a mess for the family. It was a mixed bag....a couple catfish, one white perch, and 7 crappie. Largest crappie for the night was 1 lb. 8 oz. and another a little over 1 lb.(didnt weigh that one).

Glad to see you out there catching on Russell. Some nights are better than others but being on the lake at night this time of year is so nice. I went last night and culled out a limit of 29. I miscounted! I'm working some new places on the lake. I've got a witness coming over for tonite(sat) so I hope we do as well. I want to take him(them, maybe reelcrappie too) to another lake. Goatrock.

Yeah Butch, you had better practice long and hard. Way I see it is you be about the only hope them "Peachies" got. If you need any "pointers " at all, just call and I'll help you move over to the winning state. Glad you did get out and get a mess tho.:D

Not putting down anybody else's forvorite fish, but after the fish fry tonight.....hands down!! Crappie are the best to us. We had enough fillets for the family and the ma-in-law and they were some more good. The white perch was a very close second (should of been filleted also, but wasnt) to the crappie, then the catfish fillets came in third. Think I'll start back fishing for crappie when I can and forget those thugs! :D

Oh...forgot to mention...my daughter is running a plate of catfish fillets along with the trimmings over to the ma-in-laws now!

Way to go gabowman! That ought to prove to them Sandlappers that us Georgia people don't fool around with those "dinks" as they do.
