I have two of them, also a 60 watt bug blub in a reflector that I plug into a converter, and a floating light. The two submersable green ones.. I hung one at 12 feet and the other at around 6 feet last night. .....Still did not catch anything except a catfish around 8:30. Stayed until midnite
    Oh well,,,,another time.

I put mine at just under the surface a foot or so. I've tried putting them deeper, but don't feel like I catch as many fish.

Last night I broke a q beam on the anchor setting up.. I had another so I just used 1 q- beam about 3' down and an overhead light. I culled 29 keepers. I left the house at 8:30pm and came in the front door this morning at 4am. I only fished about 3 hours the rest of the time I watched the sonar looking for new stuff to fish. My green lights have not seen water in months.

Now just exactly what is a Q-beam and where do you find them vs. the green ones?

Q-beams (Starfire II's). Never tried any other light since these work so good. I put 'em just underneath the surface.
