Default Does anybody know how much paint I need?

I'm wanting to paint my new boat on the outside. I'm using Interlux Brightside and it only comes in quarts. Does anybody know about how much paint it takes to coat a 16' long X 52" wide jon boat on the outside?

I'm thinking at least a quart, but probably not more than two quarts of primer and about the same for paint.

    Thanks,

    Dave

I've painted a couple of pick ups trucks and I buy a gallion. Judging by the size of your boat I would take a rough guess and say 2 qts. should be plenty. I would imagine by the time you thin it down for the spray gun you would be talking about spray 4 qts on it How close am I?

    beagler,

I don't have a clue. This stuff is designed to roll and tip on, not spray. But I'm thinking two quarts of each is probably plenty as well. I'm using a quart of Herculiner bedliner to protect the part that'll get banged up in and out of the rough river and other areas I plan on going as well, so that'll cut down on the paint needed, but I'll still need the same amount of primer.

Yeah I agree with you 2 qts should be plenty. Thats a good idea putting that bedliner on parts of it, I seen a boat on Woodys with the same thing . It looks good plus protects it.
