opinions?
Hey folks. Trying to plan a night trip this sunday night. Need yall's opinions. Wnet to toby last tuesday night. didnt post results because it was embarrasing. We caught about 12, only of which 3 were big enough to keep. Thought about going back sun night, but also thinking about Blackshear. Tuesday we were using lights hung over the water, fishing under the thomaston rd bridge. I went to bass pro today and bought 2 of their 21 inch submersibles. Should I try blackshear. the G.F. really wants me to put her on'em, and I need some advice. Thanks!

I would say your best bet for fishing under lights would be Smoaks Bridge at Lake Blackshear. That is a great transition area for those big slabs. I think you would do good at this spot.

Well, I wouldn't give up on Tobosofkee quite yet. Fishing can be fickle on any lake, and you are going to have bad nights regardless of where you fish. Personally, I don't use the floating lights as they seem to get more in the way. I like the submersible lights, and typically use two of them at night. I've caught fish under the Thomaston Road bridge, but it has been several years since I've actually fished the lake. I spend most of my time on Oconee now, but there is still good fishing on Tobo. I've never fished Blackshear, so I really can't give you too much information on it.

Ragfly, how deep should I put those submersibles? Just under the surface right? Are yall goin to the slabfest?

I usually put mine about two or three feet deep. But that's just me, I'm sure everyone has their own preferences.

I do 2-3' also, and have never tried any deeper with the lights.
