I got to the lake a little late, I had to take my youngun to school and I had to leave early to grill dinner, but in the mean time I managed to catch a few. The early bite was mostly on minnows. I was catching them on condos in 10-12' deep in 22' of water. Later I caught them 6-8' deep in 17' of water. The minnow bite slowed down and good thing cuz I was about out. I went thru the arsenal try to find the right color and there it was BLUE! Any thing with blue and some sparkle. I had some blue blue blue jigs from Wiess and they worked great. I think the crappie nibbles made a big difference today. The water temp ranged from ~67 to 71. I caught several small stripe and white bass as well. I ended up with 26 keepers. I only had to throw back around 4.
No,
I was not fishing DNR attractors. I have them loaded into my GPS and I have fished two of them without any luck. The ones around Kellog Creek are supposed to be holding good fish, but I don't fish down there much this time of year.
Hey jfraley,
Haven't had time to hit the pond lately. Have you fished around the sweetwater creek area lately. I caught a ton there early march trolling jigs.
Thanks,
Fishhead
I haven't fish there lately. There may still be some fish there, but you don't know untill you go. If you get a chance to hit the lake, let us know how you do. I bet there are fish at the mouth of Sweet Water. Seems like there are always a few fish there.
