    Yowza!! That's awesome. A 3 pounder!

Yesterday after heading south to check Florence Marina we headed back north and checked out Lake Harding Marina (no public ramp access), the GA Power ramp (nice launch there) on Mountain Road just a couple miles north and Blanton Creek Park a few miles north of that. Looking forward to getting out in a couple weekends from now and trying to catch a fish or two.

If you fish Harding another decent ramp is the Long Bridge Boat Ramp on the Alabama side.

Picked up the boat in Florida and dropped it at Florence Marina last weekend. Talked to some people that had fished while we were there and most that we spoke to were taking in the shell crackers and bream and not trying for Crappie. Rented a cabin for this weekend from Ftiday to Sunday (yay!) and cant wait to get out on the water and have some fun. Thanks to everyone for the advise and input.

The weather guessers can't scare me away this weekend. We are staying in a cabin so we decided if we get rained in we will chill, eat, nap, and work on our fishing gear... lol. Life is good.

It didn't rain us out and we had a great time. Caught lots of bream, no crappie and no shellcrackers. But we didn't really have a good way to get around slowly and quietly with the big 24 ft pontoon so once we found a bed of bream we fished there. At home we fresh water fish with a smaller boat that has a trolling motor and crappie rigging.

Really beautiful place and lots of people fishing up and down the river.

Attached some pictures of the river and wildlife. The Osprey has 2 chicks on the nest and they have zorro masks you can see if you zoom in. We had such a great weekend there at Florence Marina State Park. Our friends are coming up next weekend (not the holiday weekend) and we are going back for a long weekend with them.

Thanks to all who gave us advice on where to go.
