    Default LAKE OCONEE REPORT 2/12/18

Jim and I combo trolled Lake Oconee today from 8-3:30. The water temperature was 52 degrees when we started and 56 degrees when we quit. The good news is that we caught twice as many fish as we did last Thursday. The bad news is that we caught 4 good fish. Two of the fish were 14 inches, one was 13 inches, and one was 12 inches. We marked lots of fish in the channel and on the flats. However, the fish are not interested in what we are selling. We caught all of them in 7-10 feet of water. Three of the fish were caught on single 1/32 jig heads. The best color was a chrome jig head and a Tennessee Shad curly tail. I would guess the jigs were running about 3-4 feet deep. The water is stained. That is my meager report. Strange days indeed!

That’s a nice one there. What do you think this Saturday will look like. I have got to get on the water and put the last several weeks behind me.

Nothing beats a day on the water...good or bad. At least you didn't get skunked. Its only going to get better.

Thanks for the report. I guess I will fish Sinclair again this week.
