Broad River
Hello Snowman,
Well, the Broad River Campground is going to put you about as far up Clarks Hill as you can go. That area gets red hot when the hybrids, white bass, etc gather there in the shoals during the spawning run. You may be a bit early for that though. The Broad has been running muddy and high for a couple weeks, and I haven't fished it, but I know people have. If you bring along some nightcrawlers, you can probably be assured of catching catfish, perch, and maybe some early hybrids.
Fishing Creek is about 6-7 miles downstream of the park. Along the way down, you 'll pass Cooty (or Cooter) Creek on the left and Pistol and Newford Creeks on the right and they each produce a huge load of crappie every year. I haven't been to those in a couple weeks and the water was really muddy then, but I've heard good reports since.
Great fishing!
William
