    Default Sandy Creek (Athens)

My son and I hit the lake at 4pm and didn't start catching till about 5. We left at 7:30, and ended up catching over 70. We kept 30 that were only in the half pound range. None of the fish had any size to them. We were trolling at about 1.2-1.5mph and were using single 1/16 jig heads with curly tail grubs (anything with blue). We probably would have done even better if we had used 1/32 jigs. The fish were right on top of the water in 12-15' of water. It looked like hybrids feeding on shad from all the fish surfacing. We had a great time even though they weren't big. At one point, we had 6 fish on at once.
To heck with work, lets go fishing.
