I had some honey-dos to do today, but the honey left, the rain stopped, and I went fishing. I didn't get on the water until about 3 and I had my limit by dark. The fish were shallow and everyone was catching them. I mainly trolled, but there were several folks catching lots of fish under floats.
Most fish came 3-4' deep in 5-7' of water. Black-Char and John Deer Green were good, but they tore up the bumblegum- Char. I hope this helps someone. I am planning on taking my 4 year old daughter tommorow. I may try some of that float fishing myself.
By the way, I have to say that it is disappointing to see everybody keeping ever fish they catch. It doesn't make me mad, but there isn't much meat on a 7" crappie. I didn't see anyone else throwing fish back and I did see folks keeping really small crappie. I heard a boy tell his dad, "He's throwing back bigger fish than were keeping." I didn't catch any BIG fish today, but it has to be 9" to get in the box. I had several around the 12" mark, but that's Toona for ya.

Oh yeah, the water temp was 57-58 and the water was stained.

I was fishing the S-Curves up from Victoria and Sweetwater.
The fishing really slowed down today. I don't know if it was because they were raising the water or what. My experience is that you catch fish better when the water is rising, but not today. Looked like everyone was struggling. The good thing is my daughter caught fish. Check her out. Everyone new when she caught the first one. She told everyone that she out fished daddy. Momma caught fish too. It was fun while it lasted, we only stayed about 2.5 hours.

i had the honor of fishing with both my lil girls and wife this past weekend.only caught about 3 like the one you have there in pic,but caught prob 20 dinks.the kids loved the dinks cause they kept em busy..my lilest one is a bit nervouse of the bigger fish too hehehe
