    Default 46

A friend & I went to Blackshear yesterday, got there around 10 a.m. & left at 3 p.m. We thought we had the limit but when we got home we actually had 46. Had we kept the little ones I'm sure we would have been over the limit. That's why we quit at 3 p.m., didn't want to go to jail.

I went back this morning at daylight and by 11:30 a.m. had only caught 5, threw back 3. It was so foggy you couldn't see over maybe 150 to 200 yds. The wind picked up and I was about to freeze. By the time I got back to hwy 300, the sun was out, so maybe somebody caught some fish. Everyone I talked to wasn't doing anything, but I enjoyed yesterday with a good friend and our catch. He couldn't go today and it tested every fiber of my being not to call him and say that I had limited out.

However, I did call him when I got home, he was near Brunswick, I broke down and told him the truth. However, I accused him of puting a jink on me. After leaving for the lake I had trailer light problems, etc. I told him I was going to check my boat for a black X or some chicken bones. Him being a deacon, he said he didn't do anything, I'm not sure what I want to believe.

I hope everyone on Backshear today had a better day than I did.

went out this afternoon and found them piled up on the sonar. Didnt even get a bite. Evidently he put an X on the boat ramp!! I cant figure out what I got to do to catch a fish!! I tried using slip corks/minnows this afternoon with no luck. By the way - when those of you that do use slip corks use them, do you use the little bobber stops that tie on or the lil dog bone ones?? I had problems right off the bat with the tie on ones this afternoon.

Hey dog1- ran into you today and did not know you posted on here. Crappie 41 and I were in the Fisher boat that was pulling jigs and went by you this afternoon just north of Cedar. We did not do very well either. And no, the weather never got any better on the lake. Stayed overcast and cool all afternoon. Could not believe how long the fog stayed in this morning.

I went this afternoon also for a few hours, fish were also stacked on channel ledges but i couldn't seem to figure them out. Caught two before calling it a day. From what i here i was a day late. I did see a slight mud line below the train tracks flowing down stream. With all the rain coming it can't be could for the water color.

    Default Blackshear

    Hey Justfish,

I was fishing with minnows and started to go to jigs. When I was leaving and saw you still pulling jigs I thought I may have messed up. Sorry you didn't do much, but now I feel better about not switching to jigs.

I'm thinking about going tomorrow, not sure what to do, I had 3 inches of rain here (Abbeville) last night and today. Don't know what they got on Blackshear, probably more mud. I've got to get my crappie fishing in before turkey season opens. If you see me again be sure and hollow at me.

    Good Fishing,
    dog1
