I had 2 calls this morning saying that "The Landing" , formerly known as "Arrowhead", was closed. I rode out there and found out that the store has closed down. So the only places to get minnows now is Mitchell's Bait and Tackle that is on the wedt side of Cordele and at Evans Outdoors and they are also on the west side of Cordele.
I hate to hear that so close to their busy season. Its a tough business for sure
I got mine yesterday in Warwick which is about a mile south of Smoak Bridge on the right as your heading south. $.85 a dozen but they were a little small. He was just opening up at 8AM. It is sure out of your way if you are fishing on the north end or putting in at the park. Might want to make some alternate bait plans before Slabfest.
I talked to the man that had the food part of the business and he said that he and his wife are opening up the little Anchored Flint Marina store next week. They will have minnows and alot of other bait and also food and gas. He told me he is gonna try and keep the prices very reasonable. Finnaly that little store will have someone that will keep it open all the time. This store is on the water on the west side of 280 bridge.
I just called "the Landing" and talked to the guy that was running it. He said they closed the doors yesterday. I had stopped in yesterday and tried to buy some minnows(they were open at noon). I asked him if they had plans to reopen and he stated that somebody would probably reopen it in a week or so. Hopefully they have something in the works already for a change in ownership.It sure was convenient to pull in there before you went to the park and get bait.
$ 2.00 a dozen?
Holy Cow !
I would hate to buy them by the pound, at that rate.
Thank God for jigs
