Went to Blackshear today by myself (everybody else had to work). Saw Rayfly at his "honey hole". It picked up this afternoon. Kept 24 threw back 18. Drop shoting minnows north of Cedar Creek. The water had a heavy stain and was moving. Rusty said that they had the gates open again. Lake was a full pool. Fish were holding tight to the bottom in 35 ft of water. Nice day on the lake. The bigger crappie were nibbling the bait and then hardly fought reeling them in. They are fat though. The little ones were hammering it. No gnats or sleet. There was a sea plane landing and taking off in the main channel. I thought Smitty found a new way to troll.:D
I didn't catch that many cause I rode around mostly. The damn has all 4 genrators going and my open a gate Teus or Weds. Gonna try it again in the morning.
Where are the pic's Jarhead?
I am glad that you got the fishing pass from Jennifer.:D Wish i could'da been there too. I went to work and got stuck on a muddy dirt road while pullin a trailer.Got out at 10:00 and called it a day. Couldn't get to the job so we're gonna let it dry out today and fish Tobo instead. Almost called ya at lunch and kind'da wishin that i had now. Glad you got on em Jeff and from the sound of Rusty's post, you must'ta put a whoopin on him:D
Keep them reports comming and maybe a few pics next time too.......
If you want numbers then I did keep 15. No big ones but all were filet size.
Naw, he told me about that spot anyway. I had only one that was about 1.8. Rusty was being an unpaid guide and riding around talking to folks. I think he is running for mayor of Cobb, GA. Hey Rusty, why don't you and Papa open up that store. He could do small engine repair, run his upholstery shop there and you could sell your jigs and do guide service for Blackshear. Rick the only picture of those fish you can get now is when they are golden brown sitting next to two hush puppies and a large pile of your Kicked Up Grits.
i have already ben in the bait buisness and don`t want anymore of that :D
i will alwayes recover and fish
