    Default Westpoint report thursday 14th

Green water from Yellowjacket to Ringers...Had to break the ice to launch from Highland with surface temps across the lake at 36 degrees with a thin sheet of ice covering all the coves with the least amount of sunlight. Fish are stacking at the mouths of the major creeks and are all along the river channel walls. The average fish depth was near 18 to 20ft down as were the bait fish. Managed a small stripe and no crappie. Several longliners were fishing and all that i talked with had similar results with no crappie...As soon as the temps start heading upwards, we will be seeing those pigs coming out of there again. :D

I caught these last Thursday on the river below Franklin. 3-4 ft. around the down current side of stumps. All caught on yellow/white tube under floats. Water was just getting right up there and the rain stained it bad this weekend.

How far is Franklin from Ringer access boat ride time? Fishing should pick up south of where you are shortly.

Not far. Depending on how fast a boat you have probably 10-15 minutes. I stay upriver this time of year. January and February can be excellent even with low water.
