I took my dad out fishing today not expecting much to happen. Well I was pleasently surprised because the crappie were biting good. We didn't get out there until around a little after 12 noon and as soon as we got to a certain spot the crappie lit up my screen. We fished inj 34 foot of water and the fish were hanging around 20 to 30 feet. We fished with double hook rigs and used minnows as bait. Weren't out there very long maybe a little over an hour and ended up keeping 10 good filet size crappie. We thru back 5 dinks. I even got a double with the top fish a dink and the bottom about 1 1/2lbs. This was the first time in a little over a month that I have wet a hook and it sure felt great. Oh by the way I was at the "Honey Hole". For the ones that don't know this it is about 16 docks north of the Cedar Creek boat ramp.
Where's pictures??I know, your dad put it on you. One thing for sure, you didn't have to put up with those pesky black knats. I thought the love bugs in FL are bad, but they can't hold a candle to your favorite friends.
I am going to Lake Monroe for a slabfest Saturday. I'll let you know how we do.

Glad to see you and your dad got out there for a little while today. Was a very nice day to be on the lake. We slipped out there for a little while today too. Did more looking then fishing but finally boated a few good ones late in the day in the channel between Cedar and Collins. Found them hanging at 15 in 35 FOW. Also found something out there today I don't ever want to find at night! I will post some pics later when I can get my phone to go thru to my email. Look forward to seeing ya'll out there soon.
Rusty may have pictures, the problem is that{we that know him would rather not see his MUG}a pocket crappie wont show on a picture.![]()
