Dead fish.. these tourney's are friendly. We do have a problem with someone without a live well. The only way to work this out I can think of> At sign up if you do not have a live well on your boat we will mark your ticket. Then you can weigh in fresh fish. Nothing cloudy eyed, stiff and yellow..the scale operator will decide and that decision will be final. I am trying to set up sponsers for each weigh in so it will be a neutral party making the call
What do yall think about this..

Oh yeah these rules start January 1st on Talquin

    Default Rules

Thanks Smitty for posting that the rules will start on 1 Januray 2010. Our rules for the November 14th Allatoona Slabfest are going to be pretty lax. We will have a hand out with what we have come up with to give out on Friday the 13th. We are stressing FUN and FELLOWSHIP with this one.

Tom I know this one will be one of the best ever with you,Ellis, Kim and others putting it on. Great bunch of guys right there. You guys are the reason I pushed having one at Allatoona. Can't wait to get there.

Fun and fellowship is all Slabfest is about. That is how they will always be.
The 2010 tournaments won't change that. In fact I imagine a few more people will attend because of it. We had more back when we had the tourney prize.
    Thanks again

All I am asking is that we give this format a try.. Let's do it at talquin and West Point. Do the old style at Balckshear both dates, The new rules for Eufaula and Lanier.. Old rules for the Harding summer Slabfest .. This will show how it all works out. Yall meet me half way here..You all know I try to be fair since the beginning of these events.
    Thanks,

I plan just to fish. Do not have a live well, thought about installing one, but since I fish for fun and I just want to participate, meet great folks and put my fish in the cleaning cooler. Different strokes for different folks. I hope this helps in cooling some of the different opinions and focuses us on learning and sharing crappie fishing. The excitement of being the best for the day or sharing the day with others.

We should be able to do both and have a great time.

    See you all soon.

Amen chuck. That right there are wise words.. If someone just wants to fish let him do it. If they want the tourney let them do it. We can just all enjoy the experience of Slabfest doing whatever makes them happy. Some want a low bucks tourney. Some just want to just fish. Some don't even fish they just come to see everyone, they don't care if we go fishing. So why should anyone mind if some of us have a little tourney during all the fun?

Smitty, I would suggest using the "Old Salem" Ga Power campground for the Oconee event. They have nice facilities/ramp, beach for kids and the best laid out campground on the Lake. Its also close by water to your listed weigh in site.
