My remote gets water in it everytime I fish in the rain, it happened to me yesterday, It starts turning to the right and want stop till I unplug it. Then I have to take it apart and dry it out , then it is fine till it gets wet again.

Mine did that new out of the box. Had to send it back to have the compass board replaced.
To heck with work, lets go fishing.

Agree with countryboy, mine acts the fool if my remote gets wet. Have you tried taking the battery out of the remote and seeing if it still does it? That would rull out the remote.

You might put this on -- Jig Tying/Jig Making Forum - Crappie.com. Sometimes someone from the factory montors and replies. So far I have been lucky with mine. I am concerned about the moisture problemthat some of you are reporting. When fishing or traveling is the only time my boat is exposed to the rain. Truck sits outside, but the boat is in the garage. Has been that way for 30+ years.

How about silicone? Not on the circuit board, but around where the covers meet. Just a thought.

Mine gets wet as well in the rain...........i just use the foot pedal if its really bad out...........My trick is to hang it around my neck instead of my wrist or on the rod.............seems to make it last if its not in the pouring rain.......WD40 works wonders on it..........open it up and rinse it out after you get back from a wet trip..........

Would it still work in a sealable plastic sandwich bag? I think that might be worth a try during fowl weather... a larger one over your fish finder wouldn't hurt either if you have moisture problems with that as well when in a clutch.

Yeah and if ya leave enough air in it it will float till you can come back and pick it up when it blows overboard! :D

That's good to know, I wonder about that. All this new electronics are sensitive.
