Question Why GA. classic held on FL. lake

Is it just me, Something don't sound right about this...I hate to mention this but If ya cant use a Ga. fishing liscence at all events then it aint all Ga. is it Leaves the impression that GA. dont have a good enough lake to host a classic What about Lanier or somewhere else, why Talquin????? Just my 2 cents

I dont really have a dog in this race but Im going to give my 2 cents anyway. Although Talquin is in Fl(and u do need a Fl fishing license) allot and I mean alot of Ga guys fish Talquin b/c its darn near S. Ga. Talquin is known for big fish and great fishing, and is a great place to host this event. Its well worth the 7-10bucks the 7 day license cost you.
Its Foolish and wrong to morn the men who died, instead we should thank God that such men lived.

nobody will have a home lake advantage I understand that. like the previous thread said a lot of people fish talquin so I don't think they accomplished what they are trying to do but I do understand the theory. Every lake someone is going to have a little advantage so the question is how far do you move away from ga so nobody has any advantage[ if my theroy is correct]. I don't think you can. People in east ga would have a adantage if in south carolina, south in fl, west in ala, north in tenn or nc. I think it is a good deal nomatter where it is located.

The title is GEORGIA SLAB MASTERS NOT GA/FLA SLAB MASTERS. I did miss the first tournament but after thirty years of marriage Valentines Day trumps fishing. Just my one cents worth.

    Default 10 in. limit

Why don't Ga try a 10 in. limit on some lakes or all, then we wouldn't have to go to Talquin to catch decent fish.

CB, I agree about the ten inch limit and the first lake to implement the limit should be Oconee, then Sinclair. Clark Hill produces some very nice fish without having to go out of Georgia.

Agree with budman... We need 10" limits on most lakes and they need to remove the 30 fish/day limit on sinclair for a few years so they can thin the heard!
