Default Pray For The People of Haiti

Yesterday as you all know the country of Haiti was hit by a devastating 7.0 earthquake. I have been watching the news and the death and devastation is heart rendering. Let us all pray for these people.

Take out your cell phone. Type in the (where you'd punch in a phone number) and put in the number 90999 and in the text message you put "Haiti"

You will soon receive a response asking you to type in the word "yes" if you agree to contribute 10.00 to the American Red Cross to help Haiti. The 10.00 will be added to your next months phone bill.

It's a small gesture, but every penny will help. I know all of you have a heart, now show it!

I did mine this morning, and please respond if you do too!

Duhhh, Mankind can do more than prayer like POfisher has done with a donation and sister Susan in a mission trip. Lets pray that you are given the wisdom to understand that prayer isnt't always enough when you can actually DO something also...Try it sometime Keith. It's self gratifying and gets immediate results when you get active instead of watching the others do it...

You have got to be kidding me, you DONT know me or know my faith. Stop running around this board thinking you know whats best for fisherman. Your welcome at our church anytime. Please come so you can learn not to be so quick to judge or to try and take credit because your sister is on a misson.

Prayer is indeed a powerful tool. But it is only 1 tool.
We shouldn't let any tragedy divide us.
It is my belief as a christian, I should do all that I can.

I know I can do more, and I will. I urge each of us to do the same, but will not judge.

    Peace

I am in no way saying donations dont help but these countries for the most part have very crooked leaders and donations just dont make it to those who need it. Food, money and medicale supplies are stolen by there govermant troups everyday. Thats why these countries cant help there own because they choose not to and only line there own pockets. You would be supprised what prayer will do. Pray that their leaders are shown the light to do what they are in office to do ( if they didnt take the position by force )

The donation number I provided is to the American Red Cross set specifically for the relief of the people of Haiti.
If it were to another... say UNICEF, I'd never donate. There's a lot of corruption in donations. So, I agree with your premise that misdeeds are done with charitable contributions by corrupt leaders of 3rd world nations.
But I know, or I'm pretty sure, that every donation made to the number I provided... is a National effort. It's headed up by the White House from it's official website. I encourage everyone to spread this information, as the devastated people of Haiti need our help now.

While I do not support, nor particularly like the current administration. I do believe in the Red Cross. The American Red Cross, that is.

Not many people know this, but Haiti was an ally to the newly founded states of America in the early to mid 1700's. Their people helped America in it's attempt to seek independence from England. Just a little history info, for ya.

I will encourage everyone that reads this post, to join me and make that donation. If you can do more, such as pray or volunteer... I think that's great.
Only you and the lord know what it is that's in your heart and within your ability. What you choose to do, is between you and your God.
Prayer's always help... cash helps as well. Volunteering helps more. Any help you can provide, is a good thing.
    Peace
