I have a HB 587ci up front, and a reg HB FF on console. Im thinking of getting a Ram Mount and mounting my Garmin handheld 76cx on the console as well.
My question is, can I send the waypoints from my hand help to my HB? Also I have mapsource software for my Garmin, can I some how hook up my HB to computer and get waypoints from there?

Go to HB's website and look at accessories. You can purchase a data comm cable to connect your bird to a pc. It will also come with some management software. From the you can manage waypoints. I doubt you can auto transfer from the handheld but you can add manually. Once you find it on HB's website and know what your looking for, check ebay before ordering. I got mine on there and saved some dough.
Fyi,The data comm cable for the HB requires a 9 volt battery.
Good luck
ok thanks! I plan on reading more in depth of my HB mannual tomorrow and seeing if I can rename waypoints in stead of having them listed as numbers.
If I could find a way to manually enter the Lat and Long then I could just get them off the handheld and enter them that way without a need for the cable.

I was on my blackberry last night so I couldn't look this up but here's what I'm talking about. Bad news is they dont list your model as being compatible with this.
PC2 cable
I've got a 787c2 and you can manually enter new or rename existing waypoints on it so I would guess you can do it on yours as well.
Manual entry looks like your only option.
If there is any possibility that this can be done, the guys on this forum would know...

Duckkiller, Send a PM or email to canepole here on crappie.com. He runs Garmin and Humminbird, plus he's an electronics wizard. He would know if anyone. I have a Humminbird PC cable and a Garmin PC cable for my 498C. My computer also has Mapsource and the Humminbird computer program. Do you have a datacard for your Garmin handheld? I'm going to be at Ingram's Marina Lake Talquin cabin #2 this Friday afternoon. I could bring my laptop computer and cables with me if you need them to do the transfer. Get back to me by tomorrow evening as I'm hitting the road 4:30AM Thursday.
Thanks guys. Im going to try to enter the Lat and Long manually in a few minutes and hope that works. If not I may contact you shell. Thanks for the offer

Just found this on another site. If you need the Humminbird cable, I can let you use it at Talquin. It's for a serial port, not a USB port. I will have my Laptop with a serial port with me, and I also have a MMC reader and writer.
Transferring waypoints
This is what Greg @ Hummibird sent me
To do this you will need to download and install HumminbirdPC on
your computer. To get the HumminbirdPC program you will need to
register your unit on the Humminbird web site. You should than be able to
download HumminbirdPC to your computer. HumminbirdPC can convert
GPX GPS Exchange Format (*.gpx), Garmin MapSource file (*.gdb and
*.mps) and text file formats, Lowrance GDM GPS data files (*.usr and *.low)
and text file formats all into our (Humminbird) format. You will have
to import the hand held GPS waypoints into HumminbirdPC and than
transfer them to an MMC/SD card. Once on the SD card; just install it in
the 797c2 Si unit and power the unit on. Follow the directions on the
display and that's it.
Thanks shell but I got them taken care of a minute ago. I just went in and recorded the Lat/Lon manually
