I reckon I am just plain lazy but I couldn't locate that post made by Smitty entitled "The LAst Fishing Trip" and I had something happen at the eye doctor's office the other day.
During my exam at the eye doctors office me and the doctor talked a good bit about fishing. As I was walking out of the office I noticed this older gentleman assisting his wife out to the car. He looked up at me and said "I heard that you like to fish. He told me that he was no longer able to go fishing by hisself and sure missed fishing. I told this man that I am commited to my dad but there are alot of days I go alone. I also told him that if I was not taking my dad I would love to carry him fishing with me. I told him that all he would have to supply is himself because I had all the tackle he would need. I gave him my address and phone numbers and told him to give me a call whenever he was ready to go fishing. Before we parted ways he had a big grin on his face and then told me that he was 89 years old and was a WW2 veteran.
Again I want to thank Falcon Smitty for bringing this to our attention. No matter who it is please remember that it could be their last fishing trip. Thank you Smitty.
Well said Rusty. Jimmy S.![]()

A very nice gesture. If you do get a chance to take the gentleman out, give us an update and pics if possible.

Everyone needs to believe in something. I believe I'll go fishing!

nothing i started rusty. Each one Reach one! the Power of One and many others have touched people throughout history.. We can just use fishing to touch peoples lives. Bring a little excitment to them.
Great to see the lord blessed you with this man. I would be willing to say that you will enjoy and benifit more from it than the person you take fishing. It will make you feel good.

Even if the old gentleman does not call you back, you gave him something to look forward to. You gave him hope for the future. That is a gift no person can put a price on. You are a good man and GOD will continue to bless you.
I've got room at the slabfest. If you can't take him, I will. Heck, I am getting close to his age.My day will come when I can't handle a boat. Would like to think I could bum a ride once in a while.
Have boat, will share.
