Default night trips this week

I went again last night from dark till 6am this morning. plenty of pocket crappie and hand size. I kept 19 that were 12" or better. Had a blast. I didn't drop an anchor. I just drifted till I caught a fish and hover there till they quit biting and drift on till another one hits. I covered maybe 1/4 to 1/2 mile. All the gooduns were in water 35' or deeper. Caught fish deep and shallow and all points between.. Most luck was on channel bends and points. About 3am the bite went south but i caught a few before sunrise. millions of shad but they were deep below the surface. they seem to stay deeper with the green monster light

foulhook and i went missing fish a few nights ago. I got one fish in the boat. we quit about 4am..tough night on the water

Hey Smitty you ought to try over at the closed down park where all those trees are layed down, bet it might be worth a try.

those trees are gone now.come to think of it most of the good crappie are gone from the lake.
I plan to drift the river channel next trip starting at a creek just upsteam from there so I'll be checking that out. The main channel bends in just south of where those trees were. I neglect the river channel. I'm always in one of those deep creeks.

10 4 on the gone trees and all good crappie ,it's a shame when a lake goes down the drain like that.
