My store bought ones are 21" long. It takes 10oz lead to submerge them.
They sit about 6" under the surface and broadcast a 15 ft. ring of light.

my lights are white (Brinkman Starfire Q-beams) but I only sink them 2 to 3 ft
and that seems plenty deep.

I used a small plastic container and filled it with concrete.I put a loop of wire in the top before it dried. works good fro sinking the bigger lights. and its cheep.

All I have are the Q-Beams that are clear colored also. Thats how it looked for me the last time I went to Blackshear...and only 1 pocket crappie......But I do want to try the green lights just for the heck of it.

i have a 5lb weight on mine and it only sinks one end. the top floats right at the surface. with the ballast on top the light starts about a foot below the surface.
