Smile can anyone answer this

i have not a clue so im just throwing this out there. may be a stupid question, but thats why im asking... lol.. we had a gas line run to our grill outside so we wouldnt have to run it on a propane tank. my question is can i run an adaptor to refill a propane tank with it. if possible, i would liek to do it. i use the tank for a lantern while night fishing. i know it wont explode because of the pressure relief valve. anyway, will it work?

Allen, my question is, are you talking about two different gases here? If your lantern is set up to burn propane that is all you need to put in it. I know lots of people will run a natural gas line from there home to a grill but the grill is set up to burn natural gas. Be careful what you do.

no the bottles could explode with out the proper regulator . is the gas to the house from a tank or pipe line .pipe line is natural gas . it take a smaller jet for that .you might as well be playing with dynamite .

not sure but kinda sounds like it wouldn't be worth the risk.....but not a bad idea to think outside the box

a air compressor will pumps 120 at tops .a portable air tank will also hold the same amount don`t know the pressure on a gas tank and a bottle. when they fill a 20 lb bottle they have a scale to weigh it while pumping it in .the small bottles are not that heavy.if you know the pressure of the little bottles and regulate the tank to the same pressure it might work . you would need to weigh it to i would think .

figured i would ask and someone would know. just something i thought of. now i have filled the small green bottles from a big tank before. they say not to, but if you put the bottle in the freezer for about an hour then hook it up to the big tank, it fills it up about 95%. beats paying 5 bucks for a new bottle everytime. ill get to looking round, or maybe ask someone that works for the gas company
