Default Need some boat advice.

OK guys, I need some input. I'm about 6 months to a year out but I'm doing my research now to figure out what I want. I'm purchasing a new or almost new boat. I need some suggestions as to what to get. I do know I want something bigger than what I've got. Probably 19-20 feet. I like the idea of the walleye boats IE Ranger 620vs but I'm concerned about the sides sitting too high for shooting docks. I'm tossed up between aluminum and glass. All I need for motor is to run in the 50's. My favorite boat I've seen so far is the triton 911cdc. I know I'm rambling, but I FINALLY got the go ahead from the wife and I'm excited. Just not sure which way to go. So please give me your suggestions and lines of thoughts.

Probably gonna be fiberglass to run in the 50's and those Tritons are nice. Etech on the motor because of the warranty, no break in, and fuel conservation. The lakes you fish up there are big lakes and the fiberglass probably will ride better in real rough water, but the Triton aluminum does pretty good. Congrats on the go ahead. One suggestion would be to get a ride with anyone you can get to let you ride along to really see how a boat rides before you buy.

My 190 tx tracker with 90 merc runs 49 and the ride is superb,it's rated for a 135 if your wallet can hang.

whatever you decide on get the maximum h.p. , or you will regret it later. unless you run the rivers, i would go with fiberglass. smoother ride and more stable. they usually cost more but if you are gonna have it for a while you will be wise to invest in one.

Wes,
Look at these, Sailfish Boats | Demand the Difference™ | Saltwater Boats

They are built right here in Ga. I have owned one for 8 years now and wouldn't have any other boat on the water. With your growing family you will need plenty of room and a CC will give you that plus everything else.

I know they say they are saltwater boats but they work wonderful for crappie fishing. Ask Reelcrappie about his new CC.

There's a reason that you see so many Ranger boats at all the bigger fishing tournaments. I love my Stratos 217 but it's not as stable as my buddy's 619 but both would not be very good at dock shooting...

I think I am going to have to go with a fiberglass for its stability and it's less prone to being blown around by the wind. I do alot of trolling in bad weather cause it seems that's the only time I have time to fish. Do any of you know of a good website to compare motors (fuel consumption, maintenance, reliability)

I spend the extra money for the four stroke regardless of the make and model. Like night and day on fuel consumption.
