Default Lanier night stalk 8-9-08

Slow night last night. Total at the end of the night was 4 - 6" to 8" crappie, 1 small striper, 1 really small channel cat and this flathead (15.6 lbs.) which saved the night from total boredom. Caught him on one of the crappies hooked thru the eyes on a carolina rig.

Way to go! Those flatheads are tough on rod & reel.

did you go upriver to the standing timber?
I keep meaning to make a run up there but I'm not sure how deep it is up that way. That standing timber sits on the river channel ledge and I always wonder about fishing those ledges right there at the timber. In the spring those ledges were in about 15 foot of water

I've been meaning to make a run up the river too, but I actually fished the bridge last Saturday night. I forgot to load the spot light so I figured I stay put.

If you make a run up there let me know how the water is. You can get shallow in that boat
