Just wanted to let the Lanier fishermen know that WarHill ramp is closed

Kieth and I have been using that ramp for the past few weeks and noticed it was pushing it. His boat is just small enough we were getting by but a full size boat would have had real trouble. I think kieth is trying charleston this weekend.

i think little hall is still open and there are a few still open on the south end of the lake

I always use Charleston but you have to get there early because EVERYONE knows that Charleston would be one of the last ramps to close. By the way any suggestions on where to go crappie fishing in Lanier? It seems it is almost impossible to catch crappie in lanier during the off season.

The crappie on lanier can be tough but can also be caught 365 days a year, I havent been out this year and not caught crappie. When your on a spot and they dont bite, move on. Its best to start early.Try blow downs and standing timber in 8 to 20 feet of water. We have been long lining for them starting right at first light. Run as many rods as you can running 2 1/16 oz jigs running between .7 and 1.2 mph. Pay close attention around the mouths of creeks. Later in the day shoot docks, docks with pontoons and large decks are the best. fish the water from top to the bottom.
