Default Oconee - 11/7

Put in at Armor bridge and fished the long cove below the ritz carlton and then mouth of rocky creek till 2pm. Kept 19, 3/4lb to 1.25lb fish. Mostly pound fish in the mouth of rocky creek. The fish seemed to be on top of the standing timber for about the 1st 30 minutes after I moved down there but then they kept going deeper and deeper till they were down in the trees which made trolling for them impossible. The lost jig to fish ratio was just unbearable. I'm sure they were up on top of the trees at daylight but I just got there too late in the morning. Wish I was set up for pushing b/c I think that would have worked great in there today. Water color was great in rocky creek but pretty clear above there.

Acid rain by far the best color for me today.

Water temp was 62.5 at daylight.

River side of Oconee still looks really trashy and still has a bad stain.

YKK.....That's one of the better long-lining reports from Oconee that I've seen lately. Maybe the trolling bite is heading in the right direction. Trolling over "trash" all day can be very rewarding, but very frustrating as well. Thanks for the report and keep us updated on the bite up that way.

Default long cove below the ritz

I call that long cove below the ritz " mile long cove" and it is worth the visit for this country boy even if the fish don't bite. Man, is it pretty. Glad you had a good trip. Andy

Thanks YKK. I plan on trolling Sinclair this week but might go to Oconee on my next trip. We got to keep trying Oconee until it turns on.

I think its picking up a little. Main thing we need is for the river arm to clear up. Finding trolling fish this time of the year on the Richland arm is a good challenge for me. I may go back this week, just not sure yet. If I do, I'll post another report.
