    Default Okuma Infusion questions

Anyone use one of these Okumas? I am considering the 9' 5wt (4 piece) rod but don't know if it is a good one in it's price range. I'd appreciate any comments. TIA

Don't know anything about that combo. In that price range, I'd also look at the following combos:

    Bass Pro Hobbs Creek:

White River Fly Shop Hobbs Creek Fly Outfits

    Cabelas Three Forks:

Cabela's Three Forks Fly Rods and Combos

    Scientific Anglers:

Amazon.com: Scientific Anglers Species Specific Fly Fishing Outfit Combo: Sports & Outdoors

    Redington:

Redington Crosswater Rod and Reel Outfit

I have a Hobbs Creek outfit and would recommend it. I've heard good things about all the others.

I concur with DB4D. Too many proven sticks around to speculate on a newcomer that probably hasn't done enough research in fly-rod design/building to create a decent one.
Nothing against Okuma (Sp?) in particular, just too much going for the others.

Thanks for the replies. I'm just checking to see if anyone has any hands on with it.

I purchase my daughter an Okuma reel. Not sure the exact model but I was very impressed with the reel. I also purchased a Okuma spincast that I love. Lots of quality in the reel. Good luck

I got the Hobbs Creek from BPS about 2 years ago and it is absolutely an incredible fly fishing outfit. If you are in the $100-$150 range it is about my favorite. For the record, I have been fly fishing for about 35 years now and I have had several flyrods. My first was an old Eagle Claw fiberglass rod with a Martin reel on it. I still miss that rod...
