Steve and Dixieangler
Thanks for the tips on the strike indicator! I tried it out in my farmpond this evening and caught 4 bass 9-13" and 4 small gills. I had several other hits that I missed and only fished about an hour. I found a smaller cork that I am going to try next time. I think it will cast better on my 5 wt outfit. Dixie you were right about the slit in the float. The float that I used already had a slit and I lost it within a few minutes.
The internet is "something else". Hard to believe that a couple of guys from Fla could help a Ky boy with flyfishing and never even seen each other. To top it off, a Ga guy from another flyfishin board sent me the "leech" fly that I used today.
Thanks again! I can't wait to try it some more this week.

crappiecrazy,
Glad it was useful to you. I can cast the VOSI fine on my 4wt. or my 5wt. Go smaller if you want and if that works for you. My eyesight isn't too good sometimes and it can be hard to even see the VOSI if its far away and there is a lot of wave action.
The good thing about some wave action is that I don't even have to twitch or move the rig on a drift, just pick up and cast again. The wave action gives the VOSI and therefore the fly a lot of action in the water.
