Default Hillsborough River report with pics

First time on the Hillsborough River today. The river was up and flowing. Fishing wasn't too good until I found a pocket of water off the main river.

Caught a few fish on Skitterbug, but the real action came when I switched to my trusty No. 10 nymph.

Caught some big bluegill, shellcracker, stumpknocker and my first longear sunfish. Caught at least a half dozen longears.

My review: I'd go back!

Shellcracker

Bluegill

Redbreast

Obligatory gator

Well I hope it wasnt a disappointment for you. Looks lioke you caught some good ones. Ther are things in that river that will scare you. If you want to have some fun, the next time you go take a casting rod with a plastic worm. Put the worm on the nose of that gator, and get a holt. He will stretch you little bit of stuff out. If you hook him in the toung he will follow that hook straight to the boat. I guess that tung is very sensitive. I am relly glsad you enjoyed the Hillsboro it is a great fishery. Not that many people fish it. I guess it is too premative. Great pics.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the pics, Those fish are so pretty. Your camera really catches the colors and details of the object your taking. Very Nice
