    Default Ready for another slabfest????

Lets hear of some suggestions for the next slabfest.
Also time frame. We are starting MARCH so if we want to fish in March we need to get things started. Will need someone to co-ordinate at lake we decide to fish at.
From the comments that I heard, HICKORY POINT was TOPS as far as amenities.
Good ramps to launch from, restrooms, boat dock, picnic area lots of water surface to fish from BUT the wind was not in our favor.

Hickory point -- my vote. Need to see if another large bass tournament is scheduled.

Anywhere is ok with me because I'm going to be there anyway, but lake monroe park at 17-92 on the Volusia side has all the amenities, ramps covered pavillions, restrooms, docks etc. The fishing should be great in march in the river as well as the lake. The bite has been slow because of all the fronts, but some of the ones we've caught are slabs in the 2 lb range. Also, the crackers and gills will be biting if you want to mix it up a little. I can check on reservations etc.

Still looking for suggestions of fishing sites before starting a poll.

The Florida Crappie Association has tournaments at Cresent Lake on March 14th and Lake Monroe on April 11th - not that their schedule affects us much unless you're going to fish in one of their tournaments.

I kind of like Danny's idea of Lake Kissimmee, but never been there and don't know a thing about it - maybe check it out and schedule it for the first one in the fall?

Lake Monroe Park in Volusia County Lake Monroe Park

is a nice park on the north side of Hwy 17-92 bridge (secure with gate and guard - has $2.00 boat launch fee).

What would date be? March 21st? March 28th?

I guess I would say 1st Lake Monroe and 2nd Cresent Lake.

Not wanting to throw a wrench into anything, but, is there anywhere other florida.com members congregate?? Where are they, where do they fish and would they be more inclined to join in if we were to be closer to them? Guess if it were left up to the ones who have made both the last ones, we could stay right here in central state. Is there anyone else who wants to chime and and plan to attend if it were a bit closer to you?? Lets hear from you and your suggestions!!!
