Default Clermont Chain this morning (pics added)

I fished the Clermont chain this morning. It was pretty windy which made it difficult. I kept 8 nice ones, two of which were hawgs. One 15" and one 14" and they were thick.
I also caught a big bluegill, 5 catfish, and two gar . I had quite a few misses, too. Fun morning, despite the wind.

    Here's the two bigguns:

Sounds like a fun morning. The wind was real bad, especially coming in crossing the lake. I was at Talquin though and got two small ones. I'm guessing a solid 6-8" a piece! No one up here seemed to be doing anything at all.

Hi Duckbill, I am not too familar with the Clermont chain that well. I have only fished John's Lake but I live in Orlando and would like to try my luck out there. Do you have any tips or hotspots? What lakes are the best for slabs?

According to Gordie at Clermont B & T, Lake Minnehaha has been the best. I was in Susan, but only because I'm in a jonboat and it's a smaller lake. The problem with the Clermont chain is that it's a relatively shallow chain. Most of the weed lines, docks, and cypress trees are out of the water due to low levels. I'm sure this has got to affect their spawning habits.
The fish we caught were in 5' - 6' of water and full of roe. I'm sure they aren't far from heading to the beds.
