It's nice to see the scedule posted here, could someone give a little history of the Florida Crappie Association,(it's not new) and tell us what it's all about?? I believe it and the Florida Slabfests are about the same thing. Having a good time speckled perch fishing with other people of the same mindset.--shu

The club was started around 2004. At that time we only had one major national tournament trail that came to Florida 2 or 3 times a year. The purpose of the club is about having a good time. But we are very competitive. The very best in the country fish this club and it raises everyone's game, just to compete against them. This years first 3 places in the Crappiemaster's State Championship was taken by our club members. Last weeks winner at Lake Monroe is a club member. But that need not intimidate anyone to the point where you won't fish with these guys. Unlike some of the Bass Clubs, These guys are always helping each other get better. On tournament day you can call a buddy up and ask how its going and if he is having a better day than you he will probably give you some advice. The ages range from around 9 to 70 years old. We have husband/wife, father/son, grandfather/grandson, and just ol' fisin' buddys that fish with us. Our trail stays more in the central part of Florida. We have teams from all over the state that fish and, Sometimes the teams from other states will come down and be in the tournament. I don't recall anyone that has just stopped fishing the club because they didn't like the rules or the members. I hope all of you will consider fishing with. See you at the Ramp.

I belive they pay back at least 85% to the top 20%? But that I am not sure of. Usually a team that wins is in the 3 to 4 hundred $ range. But We always have local sponsors that donate certificates and prizes. At the classic this year I think last place got close to $150 worth of prizes. I know that part of the entry fee goes toward our classic fund. We had a dinner after the tournament and like I said every team that fished the classic got some thing. Daryl Cole can answer all those questions for you exactly. His number is on the post.
