Thread: Anyone been out fishing for specs on Lake Okeechobee this week?

I went out last Tuesday and fished the rim canal between Clewiston and Belle Glade. No luck at all. I heard from the owner of Jolly Roger Marina that some people were catching specs up in the north part of the lake by the Kississimee river, but I have not been able to confirm that. Anyone have any experience fishing recently on the big O? Also I am looking for a cheep boat and motor to get around on the lake a bit. Any tips or fishing reports you might be able to pass along to a rookie spec fisherman would be much appreciated.

Look at the "Going to Okeechobee" tread of 10-14-08. That was the last time I was there and it was depressing.
