Finally no wind and didn't need parka
Looks like I've turned into a fair weather fisherman, this morning was perfect for that. Went at 8am parking lot had a couple of slots left and when I got out of the canal there was a pile of boats going in a circle in the deep water(18 ft). so following the advice of the guy that sold me my first boat joining them seemed like a good idea. 10' cane poles didn't do the trick so first time this year the spider rigs got dusted off and why not, took the cover off the Slab Sauce and it works. caught 5 nice keepers which gives someone 10 nice filets for supper. Look out next week have to get some sauce with garlic taste and rig poles for action.--shu

Good deal Shu! I got out this morning too, just a little earlier. No company, no bait, just jigs and slab sauce. I remember someone telling me a while back that the first day after a few cold days would have the fish a little undecided, and that was what I found today. I dipped, pitched littles and a 1/32 slip float. Caught some on everything and lost a pound plus male crappie so black I didn't recognize it at first, couldn't get him out of the little area I had hooked him in before he said goodbye. 3 in the box when I was ready for the house and they got a pass til next time. Your jig I had on produced quite a few before I donated it to the underwater trees. Weather couldn't have been any better.

Slabsauce rocks. Great reports guys. I've had way too many relatives around to go out myself, so looking forward to some peace and quiet and fish too, but that won't be till later next week. oh yay - in the mean time I'll fish vicariously though y'all.....
