Default Another Report on Big O 2/10-2/11

On the water out of Okatanie around noon on Saturday headed to Cody's Cove only to find dirty water. Fished Glenns jigs tipped with minnows in 4 ft of water at a couple locations and picked up only a few. Caught more catfish than crappie. Tried the mouth of river for 30 minutes but gave up around 5.

Sunday on water at 8 am and fished mouth of river with about 40 other boats. Stayed on the ledge of 10-15 feet fishing about 6-8 feet down. Jigs with minnows not as productive as just minnows. Stayed patient in the same spot and would catch 2 or 3 then 15 minutes later another 2 to 3. Most boats gave up after 30 minutes and moved spots. Caught around 40 but kept 25. Off water at 2.

Stayed at the cabin at the KOA in Okeechobee and very impressed. Not a lot of room to park the boat in cabins 3 and 4 but cabin 1 and 2 had plenty of room. Got a lot of funny looks with a flats boat parked sideways in front but good times regardless.

Good numbers of nice fish, and I agree with Pescador. If that was my boat, I wouldn't care how you looked at me. It's very nice. Keeping everything secure at an unfamiliar place is paramount to most anything else. At least you didn't prop the grill on top of it.
