Default Monday,(12-4) Did the super moon do me in ?

We headed over to the IC to give the sheepies another go. We got to the ramp around 8 AM and the first thing I noticed was that the water was high. In fact I don't remember it ever being this high.

On the way out to our spot we stopped by at the bait store to pickup some fiddlers for bait. The guy at the store said that I was getting the last that he had. Maybe luck was with me today...

We headed up river to our spot and I almost didn't find it ! It was almost under water !! I mean those fenders are usually 4 feet out of the water ! ( did I mention that the water was high?? ) But we pull up to our spot and I found a way to tie up. It was a bit of a challenge.

We dropped our lines down and I waited for Paula to give out her special call to let me know that she had a fish on. And we waited... and waited. But it was not all bad. I got to feed a lot of them. Then finally my rod bent, fish on.
It was on the short side so it went back. As well as the next two fish that I caught. all under size. But sill nothing from Paula.

The tide turned and headed out. We tried a few more tricks to see if we could get them to bite but all we did was feed them and we didn't even feel them bite.

We called it a day around 11 and headed in. No fish for me to clean, but tomorrow I need to give the Tracker a fresh water bath. I hope that goes a little better.

another good day at the office !

You gave it a good effort Jim. I have had them get the best of me too a few years back. It seemed all I could do was lose my bait and never felt a thing. Went to an oyster bar near a bridge that I knew of and got a couple of dozen Mangrove Snapper. I still had t have a burger for dinner cuz none of those made it past the 10" mark. A good day though and no casualties. Next trip will be better and I bet you do better tomorrow.
