    Default Mystery Lake

Well .................That was a bust ...............
Expecting the bait guy to still be giving away free ice with bait purchase,
He says no more free ice, no more ice at all ! ! ! Says he got tired of guides
coming in and getting 10gal of ice then going into town to buy their bait. Guess
that'd erk me too, but I suggested he should've been selling ice all along, perhaps
$2.00 a 5gal bucket full, he says his two ice machines have been breaking down
a lot and it just wasn't worth it anymore ......

So, no ice, I coulda stopped at a store but don't like to do that....period ! !
I get my ice out of the refridge, or go to the place where ya pay $1.75 for
20 lbs bulk (I think) much cheaper than the store etc, etc, etc ......

So, I get the boat all ready to go and head out = beautiful morning, slight fog.
Get to my spot and get ready to set out my poles, and "DING,DING, DING ! ! !
Forgot the dudgummed pole holders for the bow = six rods out of action ! ! ! !
I long lined two out of the back with two jig poles laying in the floor out the stern.

Long story short, only got one nice beautiful catfish, solid black with silver sides, ha,
he jerked my jig pole out the back of the boat and was headed to town with it, I had
to crank up the big motor and chase him down = bout 16-18 inches long.

Nary a crappie bite, not one ...................................
Am thinking about ordering me some of those Roadrunners that HS uses ......................

    That is all
(Oh......................... GPS went on the blink too) ................. (guess God's still got me in the dog house)......
(But Lord, I did let the catfish go ....................)

Danny, how's the ramp. Was thinking about hitting Harney, but I just can't get away from Monroe too close to home. The bite seems to be slowing up a bit on Monroe it was good until about 8am then it just about shut down for the nice fish. Still was a nice day on the water after the boats thinned out a bit.
