Thread: Meeting In The Middle

Jump in with your ideas and comments if you're interested in a "get together" at Lake Cresent, Crescent City, Florida, October 16th. Several folks have already shown an interest under another thread. The plan so far is a NO RULE fishing trip and a fish fry to follow that afternoon. Hopefully by picking Lake Crescent it will be about the middle for most of the state and certainly in October it should be much cooler. Maybe even some Georgia folks might come down. Cresent City has a new launch and picnic facility about one block south of the old ramp. Take Central Av east from 17 downtown Crescent City to Park Av. (about 3 blocks) turn right to SUNRISE PARK . The city (Ms Teres Biggs) graciously waived the park use permit fees for us and reserved the Park for the October 16th date. It's a great place, plenty of parking, covered shelter, restrooms, running water, etc. Our thoughts were to bring a few fish fryers and ask each person to donate $2.00 to buy the other supplies from the local Winn Dixie.

Drove down there two weekends ago to check out the ramp. Looks to be brand new, nice picnic area to. I will sure do my best to fish this one. What time will the fishing start.

Sheet, I been hoping for a get together, and I have already planned a trip to hunt South Carolina that weekend.

sounds like a plan to me. How bout a big fish pot though? Say $5 a head if ya want in and if ya dont thats ok too.

Sunrise sounds good to me and come in around 1pm to clean fish and fire up the cookers so we can eat around 2 or so if that suits everybody else.

I know what ya mean, TRUST ME. The second week in October is PRIME TIME RUT. gonna have to let my dad and brother hunt it this year though, i may go back home the next weekend though, the bucks should still be mean and stinky.

Would it be OK if four Georgia Boys camr down for some fishing lessons? I have never been to Crescent Lake. Will the trolling bite be on by then? Looking forward to it!

You know Trudy and I will be there! Probably show up a day earlier, because we need a lot of practice. Also I heard the best place to troll is around on the east side of Bear Island, but that could just be a rumor or maybe it's just a place to get out of the wind.
How about 2:00 to be in to the dock to settle arguments and start cleaning fish, etc for the fry?
Let me know what I can do to help to get this off the ground and have a good time - I look forward to meeting some new guys and gals that can show me and Trudy how to catch crappie, especially those 2 pounders.
