Now that the temps are getting warmer was wondering when next slab fest will be held and where?
John, I for one appreciate all the hard you work you do to put a slabfest together. I agree the interest maybe gone also and really don't understand why. The people I've met at slabfests are some great people and all seem to have a good time. Maybe the weather has had a lot to do with it, but it also seems that people are busy on weekends with family and other things as well. I would hate to see an end to the slabfest get togethers. We tried one slabfest on a weekday and not everyone approved, so we went back to weekends. I'm retired, as are most of the other members and weekdays are even better for me. I rarely fish on the weekends and from the fishing reports for the past several weeks it looks like the majority of the fishing is on weekdays also. Friday is a good day and it's ALMOST a weekend. I have no idea how any else sees it or even if your interested, but I would like you to consider picking a day and lets try it one more time.
my two cents,
Mike
I'll try to be there, whenever, whereever.--shu

Thanks for the kind words.
I have commitments thru the end of the month, so I will not be able to attend any until after the first of April, but that is not to say that one could be pulled together at any time.
I have noticed those that had apposed the weekday get-to-gather have not been around on the board or at any weekend get-to-gather.
The fishing has been spotty to say the least. To pick a good day "in the future" is very difficult. Yesterday was a nice day, so I planned on fishing today Thursday. COLD, WINDY, RAIN (YES it did rain where my boat rested on the water) Ray and I put a total of 38 in the live wells. Had to tie the boat up to a PVC pole to maintain position near the shoreline.
So the fish are there, just have to adapt to the conditions and go for it.
If you want me to post a poll, let me know your wishes.

I won't be able to attend until the fall. Brother going thru chemo and I am going to Benton KY to help him.
Have a great time this summer. The cold weather has put a damper on fishing for the past 3 months.

I will not be available Saturday April 3, but have open April 10, 2010.
If you want to fish Saturday April 3 would be a good time.
Time is getting close so you will need to get things co-ordinated shortly.
I can post the list that I have or everyone that wants to attend can just tell what they will bring.
No where to fish???
Hickory Point or Lake Monroe.
If you select Lake Monroe, some one will have to rent the pavilion before hand.
being that most of the fisher persons are from the Tavares/Leesburg area lets hold it on lake harris, this will be my last time to try the fests until fall.tight lines and good luck to all
