Fished some of the spots on Monroe that has been pretty good to me, did not catch much.started checking spots in about 4' of water that I thought would not produce this early and BAM!!!.:D:D Fished about 2 hours and pickup around 25-30. They were all up in the shallows. Kept these for a friend of mine that wanted some for dinner (17 I think)

Sounds like you had a good day after all. Was going to call this morning, got up to misting rain. Most that are getting some around here are getting them shallow too.

I agree. The fish tale is more believable with a first-run photo...
The Bait shop/boat rental at the Sanford city marina is closing. Friday the
26th of Feb. the door will close.
Chuck, the owner is moving everything to Toho.
This is going to be a big loss for lake Monroe fishing.![]()
I wish Chuck the best of luck, but will miss being able to launch and get bait right on the lake.
Thank a lot Chuck, Kenny, and Fred.
Good pics Chuck. Just one question....judging by the look on your face, which one smelled like a fish. Just kidding, good looking string.
That is gonna be a blow to those who use that marina. Now may have to drive a bit to find bait.

Yeah! Centerdriver, I do have a strange look on my face. I think that stringer was hard to hold. It was wet, I didn't have a good hold on it.
The closest bait in the area will be BAGGS (Hwy 46/Sanford Ave) or BITTERS ( 17/92 & Hwy 434). We will have to bait up before going to the marina.
