FYI,
Lake Kerr is just outside Salt Springs, in the Ocala Nat'l Forrest. Go up SR 19 north out of Altoona.

I only fish The Coon cause that's where I keep my toon.
I'm wondering about that myself. I haven't fished that lake yet and I'm wondering if it's fairly accessible and well stocked? I'll have to check it out I think.

destin vacations
All of these pictures are from Sunday
Man did I have a blast! :DThe weather just got better everyday. 5 of us fished 4 days with a grand total of 154 fish including 2 nice bass. We trolled and or drifted (longlined?) with hal flys, curly tails, and tubes. Saturday me and my buddy caught 42! Thats as close to a limit as I have ever been!Seemed like all colors got fish but pink and white was the best overall. I think fish are color blind, I caught one with pink and white then seconds later the other pole hit with green and white. No idea of water temp, or depth. My buddy does use electronics, he just has his way and it works. I would guess the jigs were prolly about 4-5 foot deep.
We did fish Lake Kerr Thursday got 9 I think.
Not to be a jerk but if I want invited back next year I can't tell you guys where we fished the rest of the weekend. But we stayed in the "area".

I hope you have a great time catch all those specks in FL. Make sure you tell us how it went afterwards....Tight Lines!

Hey Chill, What a great show you had. I thought, yeah, this snowbird is coming down here and going to get the worst weather we've had in years. Well you ended up getting the best couple days we've had and you did fantastic. Congrats!
Thanks Out#ed.
I know it ain't the same up here in Indianer but I hope to use some of the stuff I did/learned down there up here. Cause before last week all I knew was sittin' at a blowdown on Raccoon Lake waitin' on my slip cork to go under. I forgot to mention, we were tipping the jigs with minners.
Yeah we was real friggin' lucky on the weather.

Spent many a day and night on Raccoon!
Several years ago they drew it down so low all there was, was the creek channel. I was very disappointed in the structure I saw, until I moved to Florida. Now Raccoon's structure looked like the Amazon jungle compared to these Sahara Dessert type lakes. I had to go from fishing blow-downs to fishing small humps on the bottom. But I much prefer the weather here and I catch more and larger Crappie.
Retirement is wonderful. It's doing nothing without worrying about getting caught at it.
