    Default Going to Lake Harney

OK, finally got my boat back in order, got my poles all ready, new batteries in minnow bucket, am ready !
Me and a buddy plan on checking out lake Harney one day next week, weather permitting, might cruise up the Econ too.
Talked to another friend the other day, he says a friend of his caught 22 specks the other day, but wouldn't say exactly where, however, I know it should be somewhere around lake Harney area.
Chucker/Kev man, we'll definitely check out our "secret" hole when ya'll get ready........
    Have a nice day.
    Danny

HEY!! Phantom looking forward to that day.
    Kev-Man is ready and willing.
Still trying to find a way to get my little boat to Fl.
Maybe I can ship it by truck almost as cheap as driving back and forth.

    Question Getting into Harney

The last I heard, the south end of Harney was so silted up a boat would run aground where the river meets the lake. Please let us know what you find. Harney is one of my favorites but I have not been there lately because of the above problem. TIA

    Hey Danny,
Glad to hear your going to make it out. I am itching to get out but getting ready to move into the new house so might be a while. Good luck and let us know how you done!

    Hey Hillbilly,
You can always put in on Mullet Lake park and drive down south. If you have a fast boat shouldn't take more than 15 mins.

I drive a "Ranger Banshee Extreme" (flats boat).
Runs in 5 inches of water. (So the factory says).
    I "know" it'll run in 8 inches.......
Generally when I see that last curve out to the lake I floor it WOT, start jackin and trimming up, always never a problem.
Plus, I got a "trail" I laid down long time ago on my GPS that I follow.
I went out there way back and found the deepest part, made the run and laid the trail, saved it, etc.
    However, ya never know !
    We'll see, etc.......

OK, so I jumped the gun a little.
    Went out to Harney yesterday.
Please send $5.00 for the full report

The water is down just a bit but not that much.
I made the transistion no problem, a few boats made it, no problem, everyone up on plane, etc.....
Got two out in the lake, went to a couple more places and got another eight, all cept one were real nice sized mediums, actually one was a big-un.
Couple folks told me they been catchin their limits, so, there ya have it.

    Default Thanks

Thanks for the report Phantom! I'd love to see the state dredge a channel on that south end.

    Just be carefull !
I think, if I were worried, I'd go slowly up there to the shallow water and get out and walk across the mouth (not muddy=hard bottom), and then make my determination as to if I could make it.
Have heard stories of folks tearing their motors up right there.
