Went out to crooked lake in Lake wales and fished in 25 feet deep midlake. I dropped th light and very quickly had so many shad that the sonar screen was almost completely red. I watched thousands of shad swirl around the light. In 8 hours I caught 2 dinks and 2 keepers. I was fishing minnow on the outside of the lighted area and varying the depth. I was the only one on the lake.
Hate to say this.....but now you know why you were the only one out there. Like Shu said, let that water temp drop a bit. If you can find structure, use it, but most these lakes have nothing in deeper water to hold them in any numbers.
A gun in hand is a lot better than a cop on the phone.
bowling balls with pvc pipe sticking out of it can be your best friend and cheap to make

Thats awesome how many holes should I drill for the pipes
20-25 per ball...use 1/2in pvc...i say pvc because you can jig thru it all day and you wont snag it...up here(10mins outside of st.louis) some of our man made lakes dont have nothing it you looks and them but if you could see under water it would blow you mind...i have been using these bowling balls for a few years now and they work...it takes about 2-4weeks for them to really start holding fish but after that its a done deal and if you dont tell anyone about them its a sweet lil honey hole

How long do you make the pvc rods? to stick in the holes.
The thrift store usually has bowling balls for cheap. Do you step drill it with small drilla nd slowly drill your way up or do you use an auger drill?
that is a good ideal thrift stores around me sell them from a dollar to 5 dollars
The fishing was good,it was the catching that was bad
The old duckpin-size balls from the Northerly states would make nice down-rigger weights with stainless screw eyes that wouldn't damage your gelcoat etc.
